Badminton Training Camp
Ly Sports is offering a high performance training camp sponsored by Yonex. The camp will be led by varsity badminton coach, Clovis McLaughlin, and some of Ontario's top players. Beginning participants will learn the fundamentals of competitive badminton, specifically how to improve their footwork, techniques of smashing, controlling the bird and maximizing power. Advance participants will have the opportunity to work closely with the coaches in many intensive skill training drills geared towards improving defensive and offensive play.
**LIMITED SPOTS AVAILABLE**
Date: February 10th, 2012 @ 11:00 AM – 5:00 PM (players may come later or leave earlier due to other obligations)
Cost: $25 for each participant
Location: Belle River Secondary School (333 South St., Belle River, ON)

Windsor Swimmers to the International Children's Games in Scotland
The International Children’s Games is the world’s biggest youth sporting event, and this year it is heading to Scotland. Nearly 1,500 competitors aged 12 to 15, along with coaches; administrators and delegates from around 80 cities worldwide will participate.
Windsor is sending eight swimmers - Sadie Fazekas, Kylie Masse, Amber Lefler, Anne-Marie Kaczmarczyk, Andrew Binder, Cody Lavoie, Alex Liu and Andrej Kukuruzovic and their coach Jeff Cowan, all who are affiliated with the Windsor Essex Swim Team, to represent Windsor in this International Olympic Committee recognized event from August 3rd to 8th, 2011. Each swimmer will be competing in 4 individual events and 2 relays. Keep tuned to www.westswim.ca to receive updates during the games.

Clovis McLaughlin Coach of the Year
Clovis McLaughlin guided the badminton team to back-to-back trips to the national championships. In his 18th season as head coach, Clovis led the St. Clair badminton team to the OCAA gold and a bronze at the CCAA championships in mixed doubles. He was named the inter-collegiate coach of the year during the 44th annual St. Clair College athletic awards banquet. Congratulations Clovis!
